BACKGROUND
The Australian Wool Network is the 3rd largest wool brokerage association in Australia representing the industry across QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS, SA and WA. They have multiple businesses employing over 180 staff spread across Australia in various roles and are responsible for all payroll processing and HR compliance. Previously with ADP for over 8 years the AWN was finding that process, service levels and reporting was generating a strain on internal resources while making payroll decisions without complete information available.
AWN reached out to Employment Innovations looking for an end-to-end payroll and HR solution that was cloud based, could manage multiple employment types and time-sheeting, had a high level of flexibility and reporting while providing a managed implementation and on-boarding process.
CHALLENGE
The AWN had a large workforce split amongst different businesses that operate across sparse geographical regions with multiple types of employees and various levels of tech proficiency. They operated under multiple Awards, including the Wool Storage Award, required immediate access to employee pay conditions and reporting, and lacked HR and Payroll support in the day to day decision making that corporate was required to make.
The AWN required a custom setup that standardised the payroll processing across a large, geographically separated and siloed business while delivering an HR solution providing end-to-end compliance process.
SOLUTION
Employment Innovations quickly identified that compliance, process and service were critical to the success of the client and recommended Employment Hero and Managed Payroll was supported by a custom implementation that involved the building of the Wool Storage Award into KeyPay ensuring payroll compliance. As The AWN had a geographically spread workforce with varying levels of technical proficiency an on-boarding solution was rolled out nationally supported by both the payroll and HR teams..
RESULT
With applicable Awards built into Keypay and through the use of the time-sheeting functionality, AWN has cut down its payroll processing times while having customised reporting available on-demand. Combined with the Employment Hero app and HR support the Australian Wool Network is confident of its compliance as it focuses on launching new businesses and supporting its national network of members and employees..
