BACKGROUND
Compassion Australia is one of 15 fundraising countries for the global Not For Profit (NFP), Compassion, that supports children experiencing extreme poverty in some of the most disadvantaged communities around the world. Compassion Australian has over 190 Australian employees focused on increasing the local base of 90,000 members who directly sponsor over 125,000 children. As an NFP, Compassion not only has a complicated payroll due to salary packaging, additional super and other inclusions but operate under tight legislative and reporting requirements. With internal payroll processing and reporting taking up time, resources and budget, Compassion engaged Employment Innovations in 2016 for Managed Payroll which included migrating to KeyPay software.
CHALLENGE
Compassionโs payroll requirements were extremely complex in that salary packaging, superannuation and other elements were required to be built in a customised fashion. Coupled with reporting and service levels required, payroll implementation and ongoing support represented a high-level of service for Employment Innovations.
SOLUTION
Employment Innovations assigned a dedicated implementation consultant to Compassion and implemented a standing fortnightly meeting with Annabelleโs team, which still exists to this day for the management of any small ad-hoc issues. KeyPay was rolled out to all 190 employees, payroll moved to a fortnightly cycle with all complex pay conditions included and no downtime.
RESULT
With a dedicated payroll manager, improved software with deeper reporting functionality and a smooth operating rhythm for processing, Compassion is able to streamline their internal processes and teams with the comfort that payroll is being managed by experts.
