Running Government contacts and with complex payroll reporting requirements, Skytraders required an outsourced payroll solution that met very specific setup and processing requirements.
Skytraders is a private airline specialising in servicing Government and operationally complex missions. Founded in 1979 they have continued to provide ground-breaking solutions to the critical and dynamic needs of the Government and Private sector. Skytraders have both a casual workforce paid weekly via hourly and daily rates and salaried employees paid monthly with payroll manually processed using MYOB. Understanding that an outsourced payroll solution would provide overall efficiencies, improvements in timesheet accuracy and compliance support, Kathy inquired about EI’s outsourced payroll solution.
While confident of being able to provide improved timesheet accuracy alongside processing efficiencies, due to Government contracts, Skytraders required a setup that would break every pay cycle (weekly and monthly) into separate journals suitable for their different planes and locations. Jo also required on-demand support for payroll related queries in relation to staying ahead of tax rates, superannuation and legislation requirements.
Employment Innovations worked with Skytraders to integrate KeyPay software that included a timesheet functionality allowing hourly and daily contractors to quickly log shift times which decreased the time taken to reconcile and approve timesheets. The EI payroll partner worked with Jo to create a series of journals for every pay cycle that were tailored to the requirements of each aircraft and location. The payroll partner then worked with Jo to create a processing framework that included reviewing and approval workflows drastically reducing the time taken to process payroll and the number of potential errors.
Skytraders now have in place payroll software and outsourced payroll that has improved the timesheet accuracy of the casual workforce, increased efficiency through automation of the processing workflows and provided Kathy with a reporting structure that is tailored for each of the aircraft and locations.
