When am I billed for my HR, payroll, compliance and/or HR software solution?

EI will default to monthly billing for your subscription.

Is there a minimum term?

The minimum term for all subscriptions is 12 months.

Can I change the HR, payroll, compliance and/or HR software features of my subscription plan?

You can upgrade your subscription at any time during the minimum term or change your subscription at any time after the minimum term.

What is workplace advice?

Workplace advice is delivered by EI’s workplace consultants over the phone or via email and involves guidance and recommendations to authorised contacts to help make well informed, compliant decisions. It is not intended to be treated as legal advice. EI can advise on a range of workplace related matters including – application of minimum conditions of employment (leave entitlements, flexible working arrangements), employee behaviour and poor performance, termination of employment (gross misconduct, misconduct, redundancy, abandonment), plus Award, Enterprise Agreement and contract of employment interpretation.

What is Employment Hero?

Employment Hero is our recommended HR software solution. EI partners with Employment Hero to include their premium solution as a complement to any of our subscription plans. The premium solution includes all the features in the software including paperless onboarding, contracts, HR documents, employee benefits, policies, leave requests, organisation chart, VEVO checks, performance reviews, goal setting and reporting. If bundling Employment Hero Premium with one of EI’s subscriptions speak to us about discounted pricing.

What is the compliance audit?

Some of our packages include a compliance audit. This audit is optional where outsourced payroll is not included and is at your discretion to book in with our workplace consultants at any time that suits you. This audit assesses areas of risk (against the Fair Work Act) or areas that can be improved to meet best practice, as well as a document review of up to 6 contract templates and 20 policies (does not include workplace specific policies such as working with children). Once the audit is complete it will be provided to you as a report including any recommended actions.

What types of claims are covered by the included representation?

EI will represent clients up to but not including arbitration in matters including any alleged unfair dismissal or adverse action matter in the Fair Work Commission and/or any discrimination, bullying and harassment complaint made in the Australian Human Rights Commission or relevant State Anti-Discrimination Commission or Board, up to but not including arbitration. EI can refuse to provide representation where the client has not reasonably sought or followed our advice.

Who will represent me in the event of any claims?

Representation is by one of EI’s workplace consultants or lawyers. However, representation is not legal advice (even if a solicitor ends up performing the work). If the matter does not settle at conciliation we can provide a cost agreement through EI Legal for the remainder work to be completed under legal advice.

How quickly can I access the workplace advice under my subscription?

You can utilise the workplace advice service within 24 hours of signing our terms and conditions and providing your payment details. The designated contact on the terms and conditions form will receive a welcome email with all of the contact details once your subscription is live. Additional authorised contacts can be added to accounts if multiple people in your business will be accessing this service.

Are there any additional payroll fees?

Under Outsourced Payroll or the Professional subscription an additional $10 per month per employee will be charged for weekly outsourced payroll processing as an alternative to fortnightly or monthly processing. Additional payroll implementation and non-standard processing fees may also apply.
