When am I billed?

EI will default to monthly billing.

Is there a minimum term?

The minimum term for all subscriptions is 12 months.

Can I change my subscription plan?

You can upgrade your subscription at any time during the minimum term or change your subscription at any time after the minimum term.

What is workplace advice?

Workplace advice is delivered by workplace consultants over the phone or via email and involves guidance and recommendations to authorised contacts to help make well informed, compliant decisions. It is not intended to be treated as legal advice. EI can advise on a range of workplace related matters including – application of minimum conditions of employment (leave entitlements, flexible working arrangements, etc.), employee behaviour and poor performance, termination of employment (gross misconduct, misconduct, redundancy, abandonment, etc.), plus Award, Enterprise Agreement or contract interpretation.

What is Employment Hero?

Employment Hero is a cloud-based HR Platform (HRIS). We partner with them as a technology provider to include their HR Software as a complement to subscription plans for customers. Rather you can come to Employment Innovations for most of your needs as we are able to help with first level system queries.

What is the compliance audit?

This audit assesses areas of risk (against the Fair Work Act) or areas that can be improved to meet best practice, as well as a document review of up to 6 contract templates and 20 policies (does not include workplace specific policies such as working with children). Once the audit is complete it will be provided to you as a report including any recommended actions.

In addition to the above, this audit will ensure minimum legal entitlements are met regarding the way your business pays it staff to satisfy our due diligence requirements as a payroll provider.

Once this audit is complete and any compulsory changes have been made (i.e. approval received to increase an employee’s rate of pay), the workplace consultant who prepared the report will pass you on to our implementation team to start the system set up.

What types of claims are covered by the included representation?

Employment Innovations will represent clients up to but not including arbitration in matters including any alleged unfair dismissal or adverse action matter in the Fair Work Commission and/or any discrimination, bullying and harassment complaint made in the Australian Human Rights Commission or relevant State Anti-Discrimination Commission or Board, up to but not including arbitration. Employment Innovations can refuse to provide representation where the client has not reasonably sought or followed our advice.

Who will represent me?

Representation is by our range of either workplace consultants or solicitors. However, representation is not legal advice (even if a solicitor ends up performing the work). If the matter does not settle at conciliation we can provide a cost agreement through EI Legal for the remainder work to be completed under legal advice.

How quickly can I access the workplace advice service?

All subscription levels can utilise the workplace advice service within approximately 24 hours of signing our terms and conditions and providing your payment details. The designated contact on the terms and conditions form will receive a welcome email with all of the contact details once your subscription is live. Additional authorised contacts can be added to accounts if multiple people in your business will be accessing this service.

Are there any additional payroll fees?

An additional $8 per month per employee will be charged for weekly outsourced payroll processing as an alternative to fortnightly or monthly processing. Additional payroll implementation and non-standard processing fees may also apply.
