In this webinar, Employment Innovations’ Head of Legal & Professional Services, Simon Obee and EI Legal’s Practice Leader, Aahana Lakhia discussed the changes in employment law that will come into force in the second part of 2023 including:
- changes to rules for unpaid parental leave extensions and flexible work requests from 6 June 2023;
- changes to rules around enterprise agreement making from 6 June 2023;
- increases to the minimum wage from 1 July 2023;
- changes to parental leave pay from 1 July 2023;
- ban on the use of fixed-term contracts over 2 years long or that have been renewed more than once from 6 December 2023;
- sunsetting of “zombie” enterprise agreements from 6 December 2023; and
- new obligations to report gender pay gaps from late 2023.
Simon and Aahana also discussed recent reforms proposed by the government.
